I started blogging about language learning many years ago (about seven I think), at the time using a service like Blogger was the path of least resistance, I was working on publishing platforms for online Journals and magazines and didn't at work, at home I wanted to learn languages not more of the same.
Now I feel a need to have an online presence that represents me centrally on the web and I want to control that rather than being enslaved to an online service. I have had (although my name is Christopher David Hall I always associate the full 'Christopher' as being in trouble as that is the only time anyone calls me that) for some time now but put nothing there.
Edit: After much reflection and diversion, I have decide that the site at chris-david-hall.info is not going to be implemented in Wordpress. Currently is it a static HTML page, it will however be developed as a symfony2 site.
I am going to put up a WordPress blog and develop a simple theme for it, writing that I am going to do now means I have to do it.
Why is a Drupal developer going to blog on WordPress? Well I have had to use Wordpress whilst working sometimes but always so rarely that I never get a full handle on it. Last year I played around with WordPress some more and quite like many aspects of it. I am a Drupal developer in that the vast majority of my work over the past few years has been around Drupal, however I have also worked with many other technologies and view not being entirely restricted to Drupal as a positive strength.
Ok the clock is ticking (and I have no time this weekend) so I had better get busy in my free-time next week or in a few weeks time this post will come back to haunt me.

Have you ever thought about writing an ebook or guest authoring on other
websites? I have a blog based on the same information you discuss and would
love to have you share some stories/information. I know my readers would appreciate your work.
If you are even remotely interested, feel free to send me an e-mail.
